On the morning of February 1, a Russian Kh-22 missile struck a residential building in Poltava. Among the victims was 30-year-old Anastasia Kolvakh, a project manager at the IT company Web Help Agency (WHA).

Our colleague Anastasia was known for her active civic stance, volunteer work, and cultural activities. In addition to her job at WHA, she was a member of the Poltava film club “Kinodvizh”, where she lectured. She also worked on performances and theatrical productions with the Theater of Contemporary Dialogue.

Anastasia had been working at Web Help Agency since June 22, 2020.

She always inspired us with her energy — she was multitasking and incredibly efficient, managing to be everywhere at once. Anastasia had a wealth of fascinating and captivating stories about her studies abroad and traveling experiences.

She was a dedicated volunteer, deeply loved animals and nature, and traveled extensively. A creative soul, she was always striving for growth and development, especially in the IT field.

As a manager, Anastasia excelled 100%, effortlessly handling multiple projects at once. Our clients remembered her fondly, and over the years, she became not just a colleague, but a true friend to many of them.

“A wonderful manager, a wonderful person—always proactive, always ahead of everyone. She was the first to test all hypotheses and was never afraid of responsibility. This is a huge loss for all of us. It’s hard to believe that today you’re making plans with her for tomorrow, but tomorrow never comes… My condolences to her family and everyone who knew her,” — said Oleksandr Chumak, the founder of Web Help Agency.

What is known about the attack?

On February 1, a Russian Kh-22 missile hit the entrance of a five-story residential building in the Brailky neighborhood of Poltava.

According to preliminary information:

  • At least 14 people were killed, including two children (9 and 12 years old).
  • 17 people were injured, including four children.
  • 22 people were rescued, while three remain missing.

The strike damaged 18 residential buildings, a kindergarten, over 350 windows, and 190 balconies. Seven buildings were left without heating. Rescue workers, police, and volunteers are currently at the scene, working on debris removal.

This is a tremendous and unfair loss for her family, loved ones, our company, and everyone who knew her.
